A farewell to the hastily scribbled problems of the past.
The restaurant industry is a non-stop whirlwind of things to do, and sky-high expectations for how it’s done. We spend decades perfecting our craft to live up to those expectations, streamlining our workflow constantly.
But amidst our tireless efforts, one crucial tool remains stuck in the past, killing all that effort and making us fall into the weeds: The prep list.
Still a hastily scribbled paper, a disorganized mess wasting valuable time and energy. Just a bunch of things to do in no particular order, quickly jotted down on the back of a ticket so we can go home. Sometimes misplaced or never even written.
So much unnecessary chaos. Yet we so hastily put together one of our most important tools, with one foot out the door, again and again. Enough is enough. It’s time for an upgrade.
That’s why we’re creating Miseo. So we can all do what we do best, with a tool that actually enables us to do so.

What makes us different: the fact that we’re not.
Most task managers and to-do list apps are made by tech companies, without knowing what a life by the cutting board is like. To the surprise of no one, what’s available is a handful of clunky solutions made for managers and desk-sitters, not people like us.
Wait, people like us? Yes, people like us.
Miseo is a small team of three people, all still in the industry one way or another.
The programmer is still slinging pots and pans, the designer have been working the floor and bar for over a decade, and the copywriter left marketing for a life of chopping, peeling and searing.
We build based on experiences from our own shifts, suggest features and solutions based on what got us into or out of the weeds last time, and test future ideas on our own colleagues.
We’re making something we’d like to bring to work ourselves.
We’re not a tech company, and all three of us are VERY well aware of what a life by the cutting board is like. We’re no different from you, which is what makes Miseo different.
